About
David Florysiak is a German FinTech Professor at IU International University of Applied Sciences, specializing in crypto-assets including its regulation. His research interests center around are applications in decentralized finance (DeFi), empirical corporate finance, and how quantum computing will transform financial services (read more here: Research).
His teaching interests span many topics in ‘Fin’ and ‘Tech’, particularly financial data science applications (data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning). He is the head of the Bachelor’s program in FinTech at IU and currently teaches courses in FinTech, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain (read more here: Teaching).
He was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Southern Denmark and Research Fellow at the Danish Finance Institute, Visiting Assistant Professor of Finance at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Assistant Professor of Empirical Corporate Finance at the University of Munich (LMU). He has been a visiting scholar at the finance departments of UCLA Anderson and HKUST. He received his doctoral degree from LMU Munich (read more here: CV/Professional).
